Goats
Camp Hanover’s goat herd includes five animals. They are Zeke, Lilly, Graham, Buttercup, and Luna.
Usually, you can find them in one of two pens in the field between the garden and the pollinator meadow. They also get time to range around the field outside their pen. While roaming, the goats enjoy nibbling on grasses and tree leaves.
Goats were one of the first animals domesticated by humans. Archaeological evidence has shown people in East Asia were living with goats as early as 11,000 years ago. Since then, goats have been sources of milk, wool, and meat for humans.
