Spirituality & Ageism Retreat
Learn about ageism, age bias, and how to end it in this day retreat. Dr. Tracey Gendron, author and chair of VCU’s gerontology department, will share her experience during the morning program. In the afternoon, the focus will shift to developing our spiritual lives with Elder Adrienne Knight. Hosted by the Older Adult Ministry of Presbytery of the James and open to adults of all ages.

Dr. Tracey Gendron
Dr. Tracey Gendron is the chair of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Gerontology and director of the Virginia Center on Aging. She authored Ageism Unmasked: Exploring Age Bias and How to End it.
Adrienne Knight
Adrienne Knight is the lead for worship and media at Knox Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland. She also serves as the conference chair for the Presbyterian Older Adult Ministry Network.
Presbytery of the James Older Adult Ministry
The Older Adult Ministry of Presbytery of the James seeks to develop strategies to inform adults on a wide variety of topics: those relating to spiritual, physical and mental health, financial concerns, law and retirement issues, housing and transportation matters, volunteer and employment opportunities, and end of life planning.
